We had a blast learning aboard the "Mayflower" last week! Now that we have "landed", we are learning about the daily life of the Wampanoag Native American tribe during the 1600s, and comparing it to our own lives. Then we will be talking about the first thanksgiving, and how it compares to current-day celebrations. We will end the week on Tuesday by watching Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving and having our own Charlie-Brown-themed feast.
Through all of this, we will also be practicing telling time to the nearest hour and half hour, counting groups of pennies and nickels, creating patterns, and continuing to work on our reading strategies (Tryin' Lion, Chunky Monkey, and Flippy Dolphin). For more information on these strategies, check out our "Reading Strategies" section in the "More..." tab above.
Have a great week!
Remember: No School November 25-27.
