I apologize in the delay of posting - but oh, boy have we been busy! In the last couple weeks, we learned about writing letters (we wrote letters to our favorite fairy tale characters - and they wrote back!), we had an author, David LaRochelle, visit our classroom, we made oobleck (from the Dr. Seuss story Bartholomew and the Oobleck), and we had our 2nd trimester LEAD celebration. It has been a busy and wonderful! I am working on getting pictures uploaded - hopefully I will be able to do it soon!
In addition to all of these wonderful experiences, we also learned about telling time to the nearest five minutes, writing time in digital notation, measuring with centimeters, and fact families. We also started our new reading unit - SPIDERS!
This week will have us continuing many of these topics and learning about quarters. For a fun game to practice coins, check out this link. It is also under the "learning links" tab of our website: http://www.primarygames.com/math/peterpigsmoneycounter/
Don't forget - our math minute goal for March is 200 minutes before spring break!
